About South-South learning

IPC-IG considers South-South learning as collaborations among governments of developing countries and non-state actors, to reduce poverty and inequality. We believe South-South cooperation allows countries with similar challenges to share their experiences and propose innovative solutions. Such cooperation enhances the capacity of nations in shaping development according to their own vision and needs.

IPC-IG is a hub for South-South dialogue on applied research and training on development policy. IPC-IG’s extensive work in this field aims at equipping policy makers from developing countries with the skills necessary to formulate socially inclusive policies and to learn from successful policy experiences in the South. Building up substantive capacity for policy analysis and implementation in the field through South-South learning is one of the services provided by IPC-IG to the development community and UNDP Country Offices.
