On 18 August 2022, the webinar “UNICEF and IPC-IG Webinar on Social Protection and Universal Child Benefits in Preparation for GSSD 2022” will be held on the socialprotection.org platform. The Global South-South Development Expo (GSSD) is an annual event organised by the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) to showcase evidence-based successful development solutions and initiatives, in collaboration with United Nations agencies and other partners. This year, the GSSD will take place in Thailand, from 12 to 14 September 2022. In this context, this webinar will serve as a preparation for the event, discussing issues related to social protection and child benefits. The central motivation is to share lessons and innovations around social protection and the various and diverse systems of child benefits. To participate on the event, you can register here.

On 25 August 2022, UNICEF and the IPC- IG will be discussing the integration of social protection with child protection services for better outcomes for children. This webinar will also be held in the socialprotection.org platform and will discuss the results of the study on “Why and How to integrate Social Protection (SP) and Child Protection (CP)”, particularly through the Social Services Workforce (SSW). The study, developed by the IPC-IG and UNICEF Middle East and North Africa (MENA), analysed five case studies that demonstrated how to combine SP and CP, focusing on improving efficiency, especially of the SSW, and improve their expected outcomes. The session will include two cases: Brazil and Morocco. You can register here to participate.
