Abstract:Morocco’s Single Social Registry (Registre Social Unifié—RSU), which is slated to begin operation in 2021, is being lauded as a central tool for the future of social protection in the country. Today, Morocco has many systems used as registries, however they present some issues. Despite their high number, with many much of the population registered, none are able to carry out the satisfactory selection and identification of beneficiaries for social programmes. The RSU is being implemented as a solution to many of the existing weaknesses of Morocco’s social protection system. This One Pager explores its objectives and challenges.
